Do I need to be a member of Shale Creek Golf Club?

You do not need to be a member or be sponsored by a current member.

What else does the price include?

Complimentary champagne for the bridal table, cake service and specific picture locations overlooking the golf course are a few highlights of the items included in the price. You will be able to select from many different napkin and tablecloth colors for your linens. Also included in the price are skirting for the appropriate tables (gift table, cake table) china, glassware, room set-up and clean-up following the reception will be taken care of by our staff. Event security is also included in our pricing.

Do I have to have a minimum number of guests?

No, you do not have to have a minimum number of guests but need to reach a minimum monetarily. We require events on Saturdays between April 15th and October 31st to spend a minimum of $5,750.00 before tax and gratuity; unless you have a cash bar, then the minimum required is $4,400. Friday and Sunday weddings, or weddings between November 1st and April 14th, have no minimum amount required.

When do I need to have my final guest count and payment to you?

One week before the wedding reception you will need to provide the guaranteed guest count from which we will calculate the balance due. Full payment is expected at this time. The $1,500.00 deposit does not go towards the balance due and will be refunded to you within three to five business days.

What is the gratuity and tax rate?

To each of the food and beverage menu items add 20% gratuity and 6.50% sales tax as noted on the bottom of each menu page. There is tax on the gratuity per the State of Ohio.

Can I provide my own food and liquor?

As a full-service facility all food and beverage must be provided by us with the exception of wedding cakes.

What is your cancellation policy?

In the event of cancellation, the deposit will be forfeited unless Shale Creek Golf Club can reserve the ballroom for another group. Cancellations occurring within seven days of the event will be refunded 50% of the total bill.

When can I come to decorate?

Our focus is on your reception and that means your reception is the only event that we book that day. You are able to come in and decorate any time during the day because the tables will be arranged and ready for your party favors and centerpieces. We do not allow any decorations to be stuck on the walls or ceiling (no tape, tacks, etc.).

Can I bring in my own centerpieces?

Yes. If there is an open flame, you must have a dish or mirror underneath them.

Can I have my own DJ, Photographer and Cake Designer?

You are more than welcome to have any DJ, Photographer or Cake Designer of your choice. We do not have an exclusive deal with any outside companies.

Can we take any left over food home?

We prepare 5% more than what you guarantee so there will be minimal left over. You are not permitted to take this home.

Can I make advance payments for the reception?

Advance payments, although not required, are accepted.

Is there a certain time that we must be out of the clubhouse?

Liquor service ends no later than12:00 a.m. and the reception must completely come to an end by 1:00 a.m.

Is valet parking available?

Valet parkers are available upon advance request. One parker for every 50 guests is required when selecting this option and is $60.00 per valet.

Where can I go for photos?

The course itself is not available for pictures, however specific course shots are predetermined.

Is there a charge for cake cutting?

No, we do not charge to cut and serve your wedding cake.
